School of Foreign Languages

　　School of Foreign Languages was established in Nov.28， 2008 on the basis of the former Foreign Language department and International Chinese School.The school now has two undergraduate programs in English for business and the Theory and Practice of Translation respectively， the College English Teaching for non-English majors， and the Chinese Learning Branch for International Students.

　　

　　School of Foreign Languages　is currently in its prime， full of vigor 80 teachers and staff members. Among them， there are 3 full professors， 23 associate professors and 45lecturers.

　　According to its teaching objectives， the School of Foreign Languages　is committed to provide the students with all-round specialized training in English proficiency and competency， particularly in listening， speaking， reading， writing and translation. Meanwhile， it attaches great importance to the enlargement of students' knowledge in economics and business， literature， history politics， diplomacy， social culture， etc..

　　

　　Till now， students have successfully graduated at a remarkable employment rate of over 95% in 2007 and in 2008. Both our university and the society have highly spoken of our graduates for their wonderful quality and good achievement.

　　北京工商大学外国语学院是由原北京轻工业学院外语系和北京商学院外语部合并而成。现设有英语系、公共外语教学部和国际汉语教学部。主要承担本学院英语专业四个年级的专业英语教学、全校各专业的公共英语、公共日语、公共法语、公共俄语教学、研究生外语教学、继续教育学院的英语教学、日语、法语、俄语等第二外语教学任务和对外汉语培训。

　　

　　外国语学院有一支爱岗敬业、朝气蓬勃、积极进取的师资队伍，他们有较强的业务和科研能力。外国语学院现有教职工80人，其中专职教师71人（含双肩挑4人）。另有行政、教学、实验管理人员9人。学院现有教授3人、副教授23人，具有硕士学位以上学历的49人（其中博士学位6人）。教授、副教授的平均年龄为44岁，讲师为36.3岁，是一支年纪较轻、充满活力的队伍。

　　

　　　外国语学院英语系主要承担本系英语专业四年制本科生的教学工作，旨在培养具有扎实的英语基础和文学、历史、经济、外交、社会文化、国际贸易等方面的基础理论和基本知识，系统掌握英语听说读写译的方法和技能，从事英语语言工作的高级专门人才。公共外语教学部承担了全校本科生及夜大生的大学外语教学任务，以及研究生外语教学和日语、法语、俄语的教学任务。

　　

　　外国语学院坚持教学与科研并重，近年来有教育部人文社科规划项目、数项省部级科研立项，在国内外公开出版的各种学术刊物上发表论文100多篇，其中多篇在《当代语言学》、《中国翻译》、《外语教学与研究》、《外国文学》、《现代外语》等刊物上发表；出版外语专著、教参、译著百余部。
