一、院系简介 Profile of the Department
哈尔滨工业大学媒体技术与艺术系创建于2000年,是国内较早从事数字媒体艺术人才培养的教学科研机构。该系依托哈尔滨工业大学一流的工科传统、丰富的科研资源和强大的技术优势,坚持以数字媒体技术为基础、艺术性思维为引导,与计算机科学与技术、机械工程、建筑学等学科长期合作进行交叉研究,初步形成了从身体感知出发、由音乐、美术、雕塑、戏剧、电影等艺术形式与数字技术汇聚而创造的虚拟与现实交汇、人与自然和谐相处、表征人类艺术化生存理想的电子信息化体验空间研究。该学科经过多年与工程技术学科的交叉研究实践,已为这样的一个体验空
间构造建立起以数字虚拟艺术为核心,由美术、音乐、数字影像制作、网络与计算机技术4个版块构成的本科、硕士课程体系,旨在培养既有艺术创造的幻想力,又有工程技术精确性,以计算艺术为核心的复合型高级人才。
Profile of the Department
The Department of New Media Technologies and Arts, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), was established in 2000. It is one of the foremost teaching and research centres for new media studies in China. Built upon HIT's engineering-focused background and cutting-edge research facilities and resources, the Department has placed an emphasis on digital technologies and artistic thinking, and is committed to conducting long-term, inter-disciplinary research and working closely with computer science and technology, mechanical engineering, architecture and other disciplines. The Department has gradually developed and deepened its research on digital, information experience space, which is based upon human physical senses and perceptions, and is jointly created by art forms, including music, art, sculpture, theater and film and streams of advanced digital technologies. In this digital, information experience space, the virtual and the reality interact, human and the nature co-exist harmoniously, and the artistic human living ideality is well represented. With years of experience in inter-disciplinary research and collaborative practice with engineering technologies and in the process of building the digital experience space, this Department has established an integrated system of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. This system sees digital virtual arts as its core, and is formed by four major components, including art, music, digital video production, and network and computer technology. The system aims to cultivate high-level, multi-skilled talent who are specialized in computer arts, and have artistic creativity and imagination as well as technical and engineer quality of precision.
该学科现有教授6人, 副教授14人, 讲师12人,高级工程师1人,工程师4人。其中博士26人,在读博士3人。设计学一级学科带头人为梁国伟教授。梁国伟教授现为教育部戏剧、影视、广播类专业教学指导委员会委员,黑龙江省电影家协会副主席,中国高校影视教育研究会理事、《电影艺术》杂志编委,北京市影视艺术研究基地研究员。
近5年来,共计获得国家社科基金/国家自然科学基金/各类省部级纵向课题项目66项,各类横向课题35项。国家纵向课题经费457.8万元,各类横向课题经费308.7万元;发表CSSCI论文55篇、SCI论文14篇、EI论文124篇、获得各类奖励30项、出版专著6部、教材7部,已在国内数字媒体产品的交互设计领域,取得了较为显著的成果。
There are currently six professors, 14 associate professors, 12 lecturers, one senior engineer, and four engineers in this Department. Among these academic staff, 26 people have obtained doctorates, and another three are now completing their PhDs. Professor Guowei Liang is the academic leader for the Department and its programs. Professor Liang is a committee member of the Chinese Ministry of Education (MoE)’s Academic Steering Committee for Disciplines in Theater, Film, Television and Broadcasting. He is also Vice President of Heilongjiang Province’s Film Association, a board member of China University Council of Film and Television, an editorial board member of Cinematographic Arts magazine, and the researcher of Film and TV Arts Research Base in Beijing.
In the past five years, the Department of New Media Technologies and Arts has received funding grants of 4.578 million RMB in total for 66 government-funded research projects from the National Social Science Foundation, the National Natural Science Foundation, and relevant provincial and ministerial departments. In addition, it has also received funding support of 3.087 million RMB for 35 industry-funded research projects. To date, the Department has published 55 CSSCI papers, 14 SCI papers, 124 EI papers, won 30 awards, and published six monographs and seven textbooks. It has made significant achievements in the field of interaction design for digital media products in China.
二、科学研究体系 Scientific research system
媒体技术与艺术系现设数字媒体理论研究室、复合媒体界面设计研究室、工程美学与仿真技术研究室、数字电影与空间交互叙事研究室以及媒体技术与艺术实验中心。
实验中心下属摄影与灯光技术(演播室)、录音工程、非线性剪辑与特技技术、三维动画、网络与电子游戏、交互式虚拟艺术、动作捕捉技术、三维立体成像技术、美术等9个专业技术实验室。2007年,获批为黑龙江省媒体技术与艺术实验教学示范中心,同年,获批为教育部首批动漫特色专业; 2009年与黑龙江省动漫基地联合申报获批科技部国家新媒体特色产业基地、负责主持该基地的数字媒体技术创新中心。
Scientific research system
Currently, the Department manages a number of laboratories and research units, including the Research Laboratory of Network and Digital Media Design, Research Office of Integrated Media Interface, Research Office of Engineering Aesthetics and Environmental Simulation, Research Office of Digital Films and Spatial Interactive Narration, as well as a New Media Technology and Art Experimental Center.
The New Media Technology and Art Experimental Center has nine professional technology laboratories, including photography and lighting studio, recording engineering lab, non-linear editing and special effects technology lab, 3D animation lab, network and video games lab, interactive virtual art lab, motion capture technology lab, 3D imaging technology lab, and art studio.
In 2007, the Department won the batch of Heilongjiang province new media technology and art experimental center,in the same year,approved by ministry of education for the first batch animation feature professional; In 2009,the Department filing jointly with Heilongjiang cartoon base approved ministry of science and technology characteristics of new media industry base, who preside over the base of the digital media technology innovation center.

广告学专业(数字媒体技术:文理兼招)
广告学(数字媒体技术)专业的培养目标是培养能够从自然现实中理解并寻找物质和生命运动的原理,从具体物质和生命运动的数学模型出发,寻找该运动的数学公式与算法,并将其转化为计算机图形和声音程序语言,再经由广告思维的策划和创意,制作出符合市场需求,形式新颖、能给受众带来审美愉悦的网络与数字互动媒体广告产品的策划与制作人才。
Undergraduate programs
Advertising Program
(Digital Media Technology: Students with arts or science background are eligible to apply)
The program of Advertising (Digital Media Technology) aims to develop students’ ability to understand and seek for the principles of substance/life movements in the natural reality. Students will explore the mathematical models of the specific substances and life movements, investigate the mathematical formulas and algorithms of the movements, convert them into computer graphics and sound programming language, and use their advertising planning and creative thinking to deliver network and digital interactive media products that are innovative, aesthetically pleasing, and desirable in the market.
In addition to the basic courses including engineering mathematics, physics, chemistry and foreign languages, the Department has also developed four sets of courses including advertising theories of music and art, digital media advertising theories, digital advertising video production, computer science, and network and virtual reality technology, forming a training system that is linking arts/sciences disciplines and integrating creativity and technology.
Graduates of this program will be able to undertake digital advertising design/production and software development jobs in the new media industries and fields including internet, mobile telecommunication, computer games, digital video, and digital publishing.
This program recruits arts- or science-background students who have demonstrated high-level academic/personal quality and potential, and are interested in digital media advertising design and development.
广播电视编导专业(数字媒体艺术:文理兼招)
广播电视编导(数字媒体艺术)专业的培养目标是培养能够从自然现实中理解并寻找物质和生命运动的原理,从具体物质和生命运动的数学模型出发,寻找该运动的数学公式与算法,并将其转化为计算机图形和声音程序语言,再经由艺术的想象和创造,制作出具有艺术审美或工程仿真意义的数字化动漫、影视、网络以及虚拟现实形态的数字媒体产品的技术人才。
Radio and Television Program
(Digital Media Arts: Students with arts or science background are eligible to apply)
The program of Radio and television (digital media arts) aims to develop students’ ability to understand and seek for the principles of substance/life movements in the natural reality. Students will explore the mathematical models of the specific substances and life movements, investigate the mathematical formulas and algorithms of the movements, convert them into computer graphics and sound programming language, and use their artistic creativity and innovative thinking to deliver digital media products in the forms of digital animations, videos, network and virtual reality that are of engineering simulation or aesthetically desirable.
In addition to the basic courses including engineering mathematics, physics, chemistry and foreign languages, the Department has also developed four sets of courses including theories of music and art, arts and media theories, digital animation and video production, computer science and virtual reality technology, forming a training system that is linking arts/sciences disciplines and integrating creativity and technology.
Graduates of this program will be able to undertake digital advertising design/production and software development jobs in the new media industries and fields including internet, mobile telecommunication, computer games, digital video, digital publishing, and digital advertising.

四、研究生培养体系 Postgraduate training system
本系现有1个二级学科博士点(联合)数字媒体技术与艺术;1个一级学科设计学硕士学位授权点。
一级学科设计学硕士学位授权点,是根据教育部2011年3月颁发的《学位授予和人才培养学科目录(2011年)》,及《关于按学位授予和人才培养学科目录进行学位授权点对应调整的通知》(学位办【2011】25号),将我校艺术学硕士一级学科调整为设计学硕士学位一级学科。
Postgraduate training system
The Department of New Media Technologies and Arts has one joint doctoral program - digital media technology and arts, and one master degree program in design.
The Chinese Ministry of Education issued a few policy documents in March 2011 including "Degree-granting and Personnel Training Courses Catalogue (2011 version)”, and “Notice: Relevant Adjustments to the Degree-granting and Personnel Training Disciplines Catalogue (Degree Office [2011] No.25)". As a result of the new changes and adjustments to the Chinese academic disciplinary system, HIT’s original Master of Arts programs were restructured and reclassified as Master of Design programs.
’s Master of Design programs now include three sub-discipline streams, including Digital Media (conducted by the HIT Department of New Media Technologies and Arts), Industrial Design (operated under the HIT Department of Electrical Engineering), and Landscape Design (belongs to the HIT Architecture Department). The Digital Media stream at the Department of New Media Technologies and Arts has four research areas: Network and Digital Media Design, Integrated Media Interface Design, Engineering Aesthetics and Environmental Simulation Design, and Digital Films and Spatial Interactive Narration.
To date (early 2012), the Department has trained and graduated six batches of postgraduate students.
