以下外贸函电正文充分显示:收信人与发信人之间的力量对比以及函电的不同种类或功能决定了礼貌策略的使用。
例1.要求建立业务关系正文的开始部分:
from the e-mail that was received from our toronto office, we know that your firm is of good standing and reliability in understand that you are particularly interested in the export of various papers to china.
正文开始部分一共两句话就采用了三种积极礼貌策略。第一句使用了“注意对方的兴趣”和“恭维对方”两种策略, 第二句则使用了“寻求一致”的策略。接着实际信息部分其中“we are confident that we will be able to give you large orders if the delivery, price and quality meet our requirements” 应用了“许诺交换条件”的积极礼貌策略。
例2.要求建立业务关系正文的结尾部分:
by this letter, we are contacting you with interest to enter into business relationship with your hope that we may receive your catalogue soon as well as other printed materials for reference.
we look forward to establishing good business relationship with you soon.
